Area residents, City dignitaries, neighborhood merchants, district property owners and other community stakeholders came out to show their support for the Central Market Community Benefit District (CMCBD) at a benefit hosted by the nonprofit organization on February 12.
The Love Thy Neighbor(hood) benefit, which was attended by more than 150 guests, was an opportunity for the Central Market community to join the organization in celebrating its first year of services and the positive improvements taking place in the neighborhood.
The benefit helped to raise donations through ticket sales and sponsorships for the CMCBD’s Community Guides Program, a hybrid social service outreach, wayfinding, and public safety service for the Central Market district.
The event featured guest speakers Phil Ting, Assessor-Recorder for the City and County of San Francisco, and Chip Conley, Founder and CEO of Joie de Vivre Hospitality.
Guests were treated to a video on the CMCBD’s services and programs, live music, hors d’oeuvres, and cocktails. VIP ticket holders received a copy of Conley’s new book Peak: How Great Companies Get Their Mojo from Maslow, courtesy of John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
The event was presented by MJM Management Group and sponsored by First Bank, Golden Gate Disposal & Recycling Company, Martin Building Company, and John Wiley & Sons. Musical entertainment was sponsored by People in Plazas.
Other sponsors included: Pearl Art & Craft, Westfield San Francisco Centre, People in Plazas, Soma Grand, eLine, Urban Solutions, Jack Dorsey, Forest City Development, CAC Real Estate Management Co., Inc., and Hotel Whitcomb.
