San Francisco’s Central Market district heats up with free lunchtime concerts featuring a diverse mix of local musical artists all summer long.
The Central Market Summer Concerts return to Mint Plaza on July 3 and continue every Friday from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. through September 25. Mint Plaza is located on Fifth Street between Market and Mission streets. Visit here here to view the concert lineup for this venue.
This season, the Central Market Summer Concerts take over the newly redesigned public plaza at 1275 Market Street (Ninth and Market streets). The concerts kick off on July 7 and continue every Tuesday through September 29. Visit here here to view the concert lineup for this venue.
The Central Market Summer Concerts will feature a diverse lineup of local musicians representing genres ranging from Latin and mambo jazz to swing and ska.
“The free summer concerts are a perfect opportunity to get out of the office, meet up with friends and colleagues, enjoy lunch in the sun, and listen to an eclectic lineup of local bands with fellow music lovers,” said Daniel Hurtado, Executive Director of the Central Market Community Benefit District, a co-sponsor of the summer concert series. “We are thrilled to be able to offer free concerts at two different locations in Central Market this summer for the community to enjoy,” he said.
The Central Market Summer Concerts is presented by People in Plazas as part of the People in Plazas Summer Concert Program. This event is sponsored by the Central Market Community Benefit District, the Friends of Mint Plaza, and California State Compensation Insurance.
