MAYOR NEWSOM TO CUT RIBBON AT NEW BLICK ART MATERIALS

HIGHLAND PARK, IL. July 20, 2010– Blick Art Materials, the premier source of fine art supplies, framing/print services and gifts for artists, students, teachers and all creative minds, is proud to announce that Mayor Newsom will cut the ribbon at the Grand Opening ceremony for its newest store at 979 Market Street in San Francisco on August 18th at 12 PM.

Blick is moving from its current location at 1414 Van Ness Avenue into a much larger, more centrally located space on Market Street. The new store will stock more than 30,000 fine art products and the largest selection of stretched canvas in the country. Between August 18th and September 12th the new Blick store will host an array of events, demos and sales; including a special night for teachers on August 25th, students on September 2nd and local art organization, Art Span on August 19th.

The Market Street store will also feature a state-of-the-art Design Center providing custom framing and next-day service on quality digital canvas and prints. Full-service shopping is the new store’s primary mission, as customers will be able to view their artwork or digital image with mouldings and finishes on a large, high-definition screen prior to final selection. Additional services include canvas stretching and automated mat cutting.
